Xiaomi: With fat hardware bundles you make fun of Apple

The Apple iPhone XS Max is expensive - even for Apple standards. Xiaomi makes fun of it now by offering a package with the Mi 8 and some additional hardware for the same price.

€ 1 649 - that's the price you pay for the Apple iPhone XS Max, if you decide on the largest possible version. That's a lot of wood - even for a company like Apple, which we're used to in the high-priced area. The fans are still eager, as expected.

However, it was also to be expected that the rest of the world will work on these high prices, no matter if it is people who make fun of it or echauffieren about it and we from the writing guild watch the price development at the company from Cupertino very attentive in this days.

To the group of those who want to use the high prices of Apple's new smartphones for their own marketing purposes, include the Chinese competitors of Xiaomi. They have not lost much time and have now put together three very interesting bundles for the Chinese market. The trick here: the sets not only have the same names as the new Apple Phones - there are the XS, the XS Max and the XR set - but also come exactly with the prices, which costs the respective Apple smartphone ,

Logically, that you get not only a smartphone from Xiaomi and a little bells and whistles at these high prices, but really interesting hardware packages. If you decide to buy the most expensive bundle for the iPhone XS Max price, you will get the Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory, as well as the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro, on top of that you will also find the fitness band Xiaomi Mi Band 3 and one Bluetooth earphones.

The XS bundle offers as a smartphone the Mi Mix 2S in the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of memory and the 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air, the XR bundle combines Xiaomi the Mi 8 SE with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal memory with the 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air. Logically, these two packages include the earphones and the fitness bracelet.

For the XS Max package, 9,599 Chinese yuan are required, equivalent to the equivalent of just under 1 200 euros. The XS package will pay 8,699 yuan (about 1,085 euros) and the XR bundle will be 6,499 yuan (about 810 euros).

For the buyers, this means that there is a smartphone, a notebook, earphones and a fitness bracelet for the price of an Apple iPhone. This sounds fat and of course it is, because you get really strong hardware. However, we may ask ourselves if anyone who would like to own an iPhone would be happy with one of the three models that Xiaomi offers in its bundles.

Nonetheless, these packages, although unfortunately only available in China, are great marketing coups as well as buyers. Of course, Xiaomi does not do that either for the enjoyment or for the sake of pure charity: after all, Apple is offering its iPhone in China as a true-to-life dual-SIM version for the first time, which is well-known on the Chinese market.

The Chinese, of course, allow themselves to have fun with Apple by taking on both the names and the prices of the Californians. Nevertheless, it is very serious offers, of which I can well imagine that one or the other Chinese buyers enthusiastically jumps on it.

What do you say: Would such an offer be exciting for you, if you actually have an iPhone in view and then such a bundle would be available in Germany?
